I had a friend turn me on to the band Voxtrot a while back. Their last album wasn’t perfect, but had some shining moments. I could hear a lot of potential for them in songs like Steven, Kid Gloves, and Firecracker. I liked their simple indie rock sound.
They’re working on new material, and have posted a new song on their website, Trepnation Party. It’s poppier than anything on their self titled album, but syntesizers instead of a string section is a welcome change. Will this new direction allow Voxtrot to live up to their potential? I can’t wait to find out.
